We've just announced a Series B raise - https://techcrunch.com/2016/06/30/festicket-let-it...
Never mind Brexit. We have cash and the willingness to spend it on highly skilled staff and we already sponsor the visas of our staff whenever we need to.
We are looking for mid-senior level developers who specialise in the Django framework (Flask specialising applicants may also be considered).
Daily tasks will involve:
- Writing production code.
- Code reviews.
- Sprint meetings.
- Fixing legacy code.
- Bug fixes.
- Remote server maintenance.
We've just had a big funding round and now we need to overhaul our technology to meet the business's ambitions for the next 5 years.
Our Development team is currently 15 and we are looking to double in size over the next 6 months. To do this we need your dedication to get work done on time, to train new staff and integrate many new team members into this rapidly growing team while working with the other mid-senior developers to ensure that standards stay high and keep getting higher.
We work incrementally but do occasionally take on bigger projects to update our stack and offering. Our current methodology is agile kanban but we are open to other agile methodologies and are looking at the tribal model (https://labs.spotify.com/2014/03/27/spotify-engine...) as the basis of our long term work.
You’re someone who’s smart, organised, motivated and gets things done. You want to work in a startup environment, because you like the idea of doing a bit of everything and taking ownership of what you work on. You have ideas about everything, and you’re not afraid to argue your point (while respecting everyone else’s of course). You’re constantly thinking “how can we do this better?”. You have the experience and aptitude to provide direction for other staff, to help build the team as a whole and within its eventual sub-units.
You understand the hard work required to update and stabilise a large technical product and you are prepared to put this work into the project.
YOUR SKILL SET
You must have knowledge of going into a company or role with a maturing or mature technical product before. Having done such you are aware of the pros and cons caused by the startup coding mentality of "we'll fix that later". You also understand that you need to grasp the product's technical debt before planning or making significant changes to the product.
- The applicant would normally have a computing or software engineering degree Masters Degree preferred.
- Ideally you have setup and/or worked with a system of Continuous Integration.
To be considered for the role you must have significant experience of working and delivering projects with at least most of the following technologies:
- 3+ years of working with Python (Django or Flask framework)
- SQL, preferably PostgreSQL
- You have integrated systems with 3rd party APIs before
- You’re also fluent with the command line, you use git
We’re a team of 90 located in an amazing converted piano factory in Camden (NW1 8LH) a short walk from Camden market and Primrose Hill. By joining us you will be part of one of the fastest growing Music / Travel start-up companies in Europe, where you will have ample opportunity for career progression as we continue to grow. Work directly with decision makers and have an impact on the organisation.
The tech team has a partitioned space so we can work in peace away from the rest of the company but we are always engaging with them and destroying them in our regular ping pong games.
We have a company culture which is very idea orientated and driven but also very social. However, it's entirely normal at 6pm on a Friday for half the company to be drinking together in the office and then planning to head out for a night out. Day-to-day perks include free tea, coffee, fruit, snacks and beer. And of course a lot of chill-out space: two kitchens each with a breakfast bar, dining tables (cafeteria style), and centre-stage are our glorious ping pong table and big screen smart tv.
Applications close the 29th July 2017.
